Meet Our Founder aka Little Fannie

JoLynn Payton, Founder/Executive Director

Jolynn Payton is the Founder of Little Fannies Heavenly Housing organization. She established this organization in August 2016 with her Grandmother Fannie Dunigan in mind. Fannie was that person that helped everyone. No one was a stranger when it came to someone in need. Jolynn resigned in 2015 from the University of Chicago where she worked in several positions including a financial administrator managing federal grants after 15 years of service. She made a faith move to start this journey and mission to help others. Jolynn has been trained and certified in Adult Mental Health First Aid, Domestic Violence  & Suicide Prevention Advocate . She doesn’t hold any academic degrees but hold a degree of love for other.

She is a wife to Mark Payton (Assistant Director), mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her husband who retired from FedEx went back to school completing his Associate and Bachelor’s Degree in pre-clinical psychology and did his internship in Manteno a shelter for mentally challenge homeless veterans to assist Jolynn in this mission in front of her. Jolynn's heart for the less fortunate is sincere and comes natural. She feels that we were put on the earth to help one another. Without Love you have nothing.

Jolynn  became one of the WGN TV Remarkable Women Top 4 Contestant! Her Story was  aired March 23, 2021!

Jolynn received an honorarium award May 8, 2022 from JAD Production as Women of the Year In honor of her constant commitment to serve the less fortunate.

Her goals, hopes and prayers are that Little Fannies Heavenly Housing will open up doors, advocate and help individuals with this journey of being homeless to transitioning into a independent safe and a happy life.
